The Filtration Process
* Water is pumped from the pond.
* Water under pressure is forced through foam sponges, removing fine particles.
* Filtered water passes through the mesh tube and travels down the gap between the sponges and the center tube.
* Water flow agitates bio-rings, preventing debris buildup.
* Beneficial bacteria feed on toxic ammonia, converting it into nitrites and then into relatively harmless nitrates. Nitrates are then consumed by aquatic plants.
* Filter water is forced up the center tube.
* Clean water is discharged back into the pond.
